There’s no denying the power of education in giving us hope for the future. This spring, the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund saw celebrity friends announce 2020’s lucky scholarship recipients.
The Tom Coughlin Jay Fund Foundation is a non-profit that provides support and resources for cancer patients and survivors. Since 2002, the Foundation has awarded 94 scholarships in New York City, New Jersey, North Florida, and South Georgia.
The scholarship began as a way to not only give patients’ families financial support, but to provide hope of a future beyond cancer.
This year sees 13 scholarship recipients, each of whom is receiving high marks at their respective high school or college.
“The potential, determination, and strength of character of each recipient…is truly awe inspiring,” said Tom Coughlin, founder of the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund Foundation. “… We are so grateful to help them along their journey.”
The scholarships were announced and presented virtually by several local stars. New York Giants Super Bowl winners Shaun O’Hara, Kevin Boothe, and Mark Herzlich, iHeart radio personalities Elvis Duran and Froggy, Olympic gold medalist Ryan Murphy, and news and sportscasters Peter King, Chris Mortensen, Ernie Anastos, and Dan Hicken were just a sample of those who participated.
In addition to providing scholarships, the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund also offers services like financial coaching and emergency household funds.
