Few things in life are better than eating ice cream on a hot day and Torico Ice Cream is committed to bringing joy to everyone. Torico has been located in Downtown Jersey City for decades and now, they’re expanding to the city’s Bergen-Lafayette neighborhood.
They’re planning to open in what’s currently a one-story industrial structure at 1041 Garfield Avenue between Berry Lane Park and The Junction.
Jersey Digs investigated the new opening and found out that the Bergen-Lafayette location is expected to be an ice cream production facility. Christine Berrios of Torico Ice Cream also revealed that it will include a retail store.
Additionally, the Jersey City municipal government released documents showing that 1041 Bela, LLC filed a variance request with the Zoning Adjustment Board. The application states that there would be 3,675 square feet of industrial space and 310 square feet of commercial space.
If you’re craving the most delicious ice cream in town, the existing Torico Ice Cream’s store at the corner of Erie and 1st streets is up and running. They’re following the appropriate health and social distancing measures. The Garfield Avenue location is scheduled to open in 2022.
