Uplifting Military Families with Unique Pretzel Bakery

Family-owned brands are out proving that philanthropy is the cornerstone of good business. Unique Pretzel Bakery has announced that they are once again donating a portion of their profits to military families through Folds of Honor.

Unique Pretzel Bakery, based in Reading, PA, will continue a sponsorship program they began in the summer of 2019. For every purchase of their specially-marked “Splits” 11-oz. pretzel packages, Unique will donate 5 cents to Folds of Honor.

Folds of Honor is a nonprofit that helps sponsor the children and spouses of fallen and disabled military service-members. Funded through donations, they provide scholarship opportunities to help military families pursue higher education.

Last year’s campaign with Unique Pretzel Bakery managed to raise $6,600 for Folds of Honor. The brand hopes that, because of increased partnerships, 2020’s numbers will be even better.

“The economic hardships…created by the coronavirus mean there will be an increased need for scholarships in the foreseeable future,” said Justin Spannuth, Chief Operating Officer at Unique Pretzel Bakery, Inc. “[Military] families have made tremendous sacrifices for our country and we are very privileged to help support them.”

Unique Pretzel Bakery is no stranger to philanthropy and community outreach. In addition to their previous work with Folds of Honor, they’ve also sponsored relief in the wake of Hurricane Maria. Recently, they donated to a virtual bike ride to raise funds for the fight against coronavirus.

Founded in 2007, Folds of Honor has to-date awarded about 24,500 scholarships to service-members’ families. During the 2019-2020 school year, the foundation awarded 4,500, totaling about $22 million in aid.
