HipNJ’s Weekend Recap: 7/19-7/21

HipNJ’s Weekend Recap: 7/19-7/21

Happy Monday! We here at #HipNJ hope you stayed nice and cool during the heatwave! Though this weekend was hot, the events in New Jersey were even hotter! Here is our weekend recap!

While summer was at its peak with the blistering heat, Atlantic City said goodbye to all four seasons. The Four Seasons Broadway musical, ‘Jersey Boys’ ended their one-month residency at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

The award-winning musical made its way back to Jersey from June 25 through July 21st where they performed renditions of their iconic songs ‘Sherry’ and ‘December 1963 (Oh, What a Night)’.

Yet they weren’t the only entertainment to group to bring the crowd to their feet in Atlantic City this weekend! Galantis, the Swedish electronic dance music duo performed at the Borgata Hotel on Friday, June 19th where they performed their hit songs ‘No Money’ and ‘Runway (U & I)’.

This weekend also had an influx of boy bands and former childhood crushes making their way through the Garden state. The Pop 2000 tour made a stop at the Union County Performing Arts Center, in Rahway, this last Saturday.

The concert event was hosted by the one and only Lance Bass of N*SYNC. Heartthrobs from the late 90’s/early 2000’s who performed included Ryan Cabrera, Aaron Carter, Tyler Hilton and the boy band Otown.

Fans were able to catch the fellas after the show for meet & greets and were able to take pictures with the pop stars!

One New Jersey wedding guest this weekend that forgot to RSVP was none other than President Donald Trump. President Trump made a surprise appearance at a wedding that was taking place at his Bedminster Golf Club on Saturday night.

The groom, P.J. Mongelli, sent multiple invitations to the President hoping that one would catch his attention and much to his surprise, it worked.  The stunned wedding party chanted “USA” while the President took pictures with the newlyweds.

Mongelli and Nicole Marie were engaged nearly two years prior at the Trump National Golf Club, making this love story completely full circle.

Though the weather hasn’t been nice to us lately, especially with more harsh thunderstorms heading our way, we at #HipNJ hope you had an awesome weekend! Let us know any happenings for the upcoming weekend!
