Even in strange times, New Jerseyans are doing their all to support the arts. Women@NJPAC, a coalition of female artists and enthusiasts, has announced that their annual Luncheon & Auction will be held on December 2nd, 2020.
Operating out of the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC), the luncheon—usually held in the spring—is expected to attract over 500 guests. The event makes time for lunch, a networking reception, a silent auction, and a special guest speaker.
This year’s special guest speaker, Norma Kamali, is an accomplished fashion designer and founder of her own skincare line. Kamali addressed the postponement of the luncheon until December from her home by video.
“…Whether [the luncheon] is virtual or social distancing, we will figure out a way that we can all come together,” said Kamali. “What’s most important is that everybody stays safe and healthy.”
Co-chaired by NJPAC’s own Deborah Belfatto and Patricia Capawana, the luncheon even makes time to recognize its esteemed guests. Longtime member and donor Mindy A. Cohen will receive the Ronnie Goldberg Award “for outstanding contributions to the Women@NJPAC.”
Students of NJPAC’s Arts Education program will also perform for guests. Founded to encourage the next generation of artists, the Arts Education program has courses on everything from jazz music to live dance.
With proceeds from the luncheon going to support the arts at NJPAC, organizers hope to see you there! To accommodate the later date, the deadline to submit to the ad journal is November 6th. Similarly, submissions for auction items are due November 13th.
