Wonder Girls Launches After-School Program And Scholarship Fund For Female High School Students In New York & New Jersey

Wonder Girls, a component fund of the Rockland Community Foundation, is an after-school program for female high school students with a mission to build confidence, leadership, and the necessary business skills to succeed, no matter what educational or career path they may choose.  At the end of the program, each Wonder Girl is provided the opportunity to apply for a college scholarship during their senior year of high school.

“We believe that every Wonder Girl deserves the opportunity to thrive as leaders of their own lives despite economic, social or educational challenges.  As professional and educated women, we want to promote the importance of education and encourage young girls to learn, grow, support each other, and to always, dream big!” said Natalie Maniscalco and Irene Zervoudis, co-founders of Wonder Girls.

Through educational programming and events, Wonder Girls bring together a powerful and phenomenal network of diverse and multicultural professional women to teach, lead, inspire and empower our Wonder Girls, supporting both their personal and professional growth. Program mentors and speakers specialize in adolescent programming, leadership, therapy, education, business, corporate, real estate, public relations, marketing, health, fitness, fashion, design, construction, food & beverage, charity, non-profit, banking, wellness, spiritual and more.  They will will also host yearly events outside the school including community service experiences with charitable partners, a Wellness Expo and a College | Career Expo.

“The Rockland Community Foundation is delighted to steward the Wonder Girls Fund.  Bringing this type of program to our community is the perfect example of committed individuals seeking to make a difference.  We look forward to helping this fund grow and prosper” said Julie Sadowski, Executive Director at RCF.

The Wonder Girls after-school program is available in Fall 2021 for female students at high schools located in Rockland County, New York and Bergen County, New Jersey.
