The Metropolitan Riveters – a professional hockey team representing New York and New Jersey in the Premier Hockey Federation – will give fans unprecedented access to team practices this season as part of a practice facility partner with American Dream.
Starting Oct. 5, the team will welcome all fans to attend its biweekly practices at The Rink at American Dream. This will be a first for a professional sports team in any league.
“This partnership is such an innovative step for the Metropolitan Riveters as we head into Season Seven,” Anya Packer, the Riveters general manager, said. “Allowing our athletes to be more accessible than ever before is just a testament to the growth of women’s hockey in the New York-New Jersey area. To watch this commitment back to the Riveters from American Dream has been massively exciting, and we aim to continue to impact our community and the next generation of hockey players through this exposure.”
To celebrate this historic partnership, the Riveters and American Dream will host “Youth Hockey Night at American Dream”. This event will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 5 from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Youth hockey clubs, teams, and players in the New York-New Jersey area are all welcome to attend. They’ll get to enjoy:
· A “Dress like Rosie the Riveter” costume contest
· Photo opportunities with Riveters players
· Free entertainment and discounts, provided by American Dream
Riveters practices at American Dream will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Practices are free and open to the public, subject to local health and safety guidelines.
